LET ME HELP OUR COMMUNITIES. LET’S GROW AVOYELLES PARISH.
As a life-long resident of Avoyelles Parish, I am committed to making the parish a place where families can flourish and kids won’t have to move away to find a job. With my experience as an entrepreneur, I know how to create jobs and opportunities. I’ll work hard in Baton Rouge to grow our job base and give every one of us a chance to succeed.
LET’S STOP WASTEFUL SPENDING
Politicians in Baton Rouge are risking our future to fund their wasteful ways. I will use my knowledge as a successful job creator to force government to live within its means, cut our taxes and give the citizens something back for their tax dollars.
I SUPPORT OUR SCHOOLS
I know firsthand the schools in Avoyelles Parish and across the state. I understand the importance of giving parents and students the chance to achieve their dreams. I support giving every student a strong start, high expectations, effective teachers and quality schools.
I WANT TO PRESERVE OUR WAY OF LIFE
My Christian values guide me every day. I am pro-life and committed to protecting the rights of the unborn. As a sportsman, I will defend the Second Amendment and will fight to protect the rights and culture of our community.
🎉 Honored to receive the 2025 Family Advocate Award from the Louisiana Family Forum!
It’s a privilege to stand for life, liberty, and limited government, and to work every day for the families of Louisiana. Thank you to the Louisiana Family Forum for this recognition, and to the people of District 28 for allowing me to serve.
I'm proud to report that this year I secured over $13 million in critical investments for District 28 to improve our roads, infrastructure, and community services. In addition, I authored legislation to promote more responsible spending of your hard-earned tax dollars and foster a more business-friendly environment across Louisiana.

In 2012 I came home from a 3 month military deployment to United Arab Emirates to a speed camera ticket in my name from the City of Gretna. 42 in a 35. Obviously I was not driving. They said the vehicle was in my name so I was responsible for the ticket. I said no way am I paying a ticket that states by signing is an admission of guilt and agreement to waive court appearance, nor was I going to go to court over something so blatantly BS. It never appeared on my driving record or my credit report. But, just that basis is totally unlawful. If a uniformed officer in a marked patrol car would have stopped the car the driver would have gotten the ticket not me, but they say I am responsible because it's a camera ticket. No way in hell that can be lawful!!
What if it’s a ticket received prior to August 1?
Why speed ??? 63, never got a ticket. I travel all over the country. Pay for breaking the law. 💪🏼👮🏼
Darker Window Tint officially takes effect today, August 1st.
This past session I authored HB119 which decreased the allowable window tint percentage on front side windows to 25%. Not only does this change put our tint laws in line with other southern states, it also enhances comfort and safety for our Louisiana drivers. ... See MoreSee Less

Great work! I remember when AJ received his initial appointment to the ZTP Commission, must have been over two decades ago. Great to see Daryl promoting that infrastructure. And thanks AJ ... many years you have provided leadership on that Commission.
Yes it was a great meeting!
Thank you for all of the great information and keeping us up to date with all that is going on and all that you work so hard to accomplish!

I’m proud to share some great news: The One Big Beautiful Bill has passed both chambers of Congress — despite opposition from every Democrat and 5 Republicans — and now heads to President Trump for his signature.
This is a major tax break for hardworking families, retirees, and small businesses, and I wanted to explain what it means for you:
Daryl Deshotel State Representative please explain to me who will be affected by the Medicare program cuts.
Excellent news. It amazes me that he will never receive the credit he deserves simply because of hate. It would be so awesome if those that hate him so badly wouldn't benefit one bit from any of this. I know one biz owner in particular who wouldn't put him out if he was on fire, but yet I'm sure she will reap the benefits of his accomplishment.
Thanks for always keeping us informed in a way we can comprehend it! Huge Win!
