LET ME HELP OUR COMMUNITIES.  LET’S GROW AVOYELLES PARISH.

As a life-long resident of Avoyelles Parish, I am committed to making the parish a place where families can flourish and kids won’t have to move away to find a job. With my experience as an entrepreneur, I know how to create jobs and opportunities. I’ll work hard in Baton Rouge to grow our job base and give every one of us a chance to succeed.

LET’S STOP WASTEFUL SPENDING

Politicians in Baton Rouge are risking our future to fund their wasteful ways. I will use my knowledge as a successful job creator to force government to live within its means, cut our taxes and give the citizens something back for their tax dollars.

I SUPPORT OUR SCHOOLS

I know firsthand the schools in Avoyelles Parish and across the state. I understand the importance of giving parents and students the chance to achieve their dreams. I support giving every student a strong start, high expectations, effective teachers and quality schools.

I WANT TO PRESERVE OUR WAY OF LIFE

My Christian values guide me every day. I am  pro-life and committed to protecting the rights of the unborn. As a sportsman, I will defend the Second Amendment and will fight to protect the rights and culture of our community.

I want to sincerely thank every farmer who took the time to complete the Agricultural Flood Damage Survey.

Your responses were instrumental in helping FEMA and our state partners understand the devastating impact of Tropical Storm Arthur on agriculture in Avoyelles Parish.

The numbers in this report are significant, but we also know they do not reflect the full extent of the damage. Many producers are still assessing their losses, and some fields remain underwater. Unfortunately, we expect the actual agricultural losses to be much greater than what is currently shown.

Every survey submitted strengthened our case for disaster assistance and helped ensure our farming community’s voice was heard.

Thank you for your resilience, your hard work, and for taking the time to complete the survey. We will continue fighting to secure every available resource to help our farmers recover.

God bless our farmers, and thank you for all you do to feed our communities.

Request for Major Disaster Declaration for Tropical Storm Arthur

Below is a copy of the Major Disaster Declaration request that Governor Jeff Landry sent to President Donald J. Trump on behalf of the State of Louisiana. It outlines the historic devastation caused by Tropical Storm Arthur and the impact on Avoyelles Parish and the other affected parishes.

I also want to take a moment to recognize the incredible team effort that made this request possible.

One of the most important parts of the disaster declaration process is documenting the damage on the ground. That effort simply would not have been possible without an incredible team working together.

Thank you to GOHSEP, FEMA, and all of our local elected officials who helped spread the word and ensure affected residents were identified.

A special thank you to the Avoyelles Parish employees who rode alongside the GOHSEP and FEMA teams as they conducted damage assessments across our parish.

Thank you to our local volunteer firefighters, who helped direct assessment teams to the hardest-hit and hardest-to-reach areas. Your local knowledge ensured that homes were documented that otherwise may have been missed.

A special thank you to Senator Cloud, David Allen from Senator Cloud’s office, and Todd Smith, who spent countless hours driving my high-water vehicle to get GOHSEP and FEMA personnel into areas that were otherwise inaccessible.

Last, but certainly not least, thank you to Governor Jeff Landry for working with me throughout this entire process. From the beginning, he understood the severity of what our communities were facing and was committed to making sure Avoyelles and the other affected parishes received the attention and support they deserved.

I’m sure I’ve unintentionally left someone out, and for that I sincerely apologize. The truth is, none of these people were doing this for recognition or glory. They did it because they love Avoyelles Parish and want the very best for the people who call it home.

I am honored to have worked alongside such an amazing team. Together, we made sure our community’s losses were accurately documented so that our residents have the strongest possible case for the federal assistance they deserve.

Thank you all for your selfless service. God bless each of you, and God bless Avoyelles Parish.

Thank you and most thankfully I acknowledge the locals for helping each other before any elected official even knew about it. We checked on each other and rescued each other on that first day. So looking forward to building back collectively.

It’s Arthur, with a u.

Thank u for this! When available please share the response from Donald Trump and fema!

While our community is focused on recovering from this historic flood, a lawsuit has been filed challenging the court reform legislation.

I have been advised that if the lawsuit is successful, the result could be the elimination of the Bunkie City Court. That outcome would be unfortunate for the citizens of Bunkie.

At a time when so many families are rebuilding after what has been described as a 1,000-year flood, I believe our time and energy should be focused on helping our communities recover—not on litigation.

I respectfully disagree with the decision by Bruce Coulon and Charlie Riddle to pursue this lawsuit, and I remain committed to doing everything I can to protect our courts while continuing to help the people of Avoyelles recover.

Is the filing public? I’d like to read it.

I’m confused. Paragraph 2 of this post says if the lawsuit is successful it could mean the elimination of Bunkie City Court. Riddle’s comment says if the lawsuit is successful it means Bunkie city court remains the same. Which is it?

again, my goal is to keep Marksville City Court and Bunkie City Court as they are right now not to go with your other Wards .
