Daryl Deshotel isn’t a politician, unless you count being president of the 4-H in the sixth grade. As a fourth-generation Avoyelles native, Daryl grew up working in the sweet potato fields on his uncle’s farm. He knows what it means to work hard for a living.
To put himself through LSU, Daryl took on a job at a computer company. There, he became fascinated and learned how to assemble and program computers. While still in college full-time, he traveled the state selling computers and computer equipment to schools. Daryl recognized the future of technology and started his own business, Detel Computer Solutions. As an entrepreneur, Daryl has created jobs and opportunity all across our state.
Daryl and his wife Olivia are parents to three children: Noah, Kate and Annalise. The family are active members of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church where Daryl is an usher, Eucharistic minister and lector. Adding to his community involvement, Daryl is a member of the Hessmer Knights of Columbus and a member of the Marksville, Simmesport, Mansura and Bunkie Chambers of Commerce. He has also coached baseball teams from tee-ball to the high school level.
